I FINALLY got around to taking picture of Townes’s nursery. Or let’s be real, I finally got it clean enough and kept it clean for long enough to snap a few pictures. Out of all the boys nurseries, this one is favorite. Hunter’s was fun to design being our first child. With James we wanted to be economical so we literally reused everything down to the bedding. With our third, I new I would reuse furniture but wanted to add a few new touches.
When I design a room, I typically pick out one thing that I love and just use that as a starting point. Sometimes it’s a rug, sometimes a picture, or a piece of furniture. This time it was a crib sheet. haha. Before we knew Townes was a boy I bought this crib sheet from Serena & Lily. The aqua/seafoam green is my favorite color and ya’ll know I love a gingham check. If it was a girl I was going to add touches of pink and if it was a boy…well, I knew I’d figure something out!
It was a boy!! So here I was with my seafoam green checked sheet. I started looking for cute patterned curtains, or a duvet cover for the bed in the room… just something to bring in some contrasting pattern! Then out of now where while on the Anthropologie website I came across this wallpaper.
It was love at first sight and beyond perfect. The pattern brought in the boy element I was looking for but kept with the calm color tones and went really well with my checked sheet. haha. I was so excited!! After that, the rest was simple because I could keep everything else very neutral and plain given we have such a bold wall.
I ordered ivory bedding from Potterybarn, White Duvet from Serena & Lily, Checked pillows from McGee & Co, Roman shades from Potterybarn, and the cutest ottoman from…….. All of the furniture dresser, crib, shelves we’ve now used for all three boys and man does it feel good getting your money out of things. Am i right? or am i right?
Hopefully once Townes has an opinion he likes his fish wall paper as much as I do!
