I do it every time, about two weeks after having a baby I’m so ready to ditch the maternity clothes and feel human again. And with my past two boys it fell right when spring clothes were coming out. Luckily stores have some crazy good sales so I don’t splurge on anything expensive given my body is definitely still changing but a few hundred dollars on some in between denim and some tops that fit just make the world of difference on how I feel and function postpartum. Today I’ll share these body forgiving pieces with you.
First denim. The top two pictures are jeans I picked up from Old Navy. Sooo cheap so I don’t feel bad at all wearing them for three months and then giving them to good will. The bottom two are from LOFT. So comfy with a little bit of stretch but both I’ve worn for days and they didn’t stretch out too much to the point where I’m yanking them up by the end of the day. I hate that. They are all little bit higher waist so I can keep this muffin top at bay too. The top in this first picture is this one and shoes are here.
Button downs are my jam because they hide everything!! This white one with Cacti on it is from GAP and I’m loving it with these army green linen joggers also from GAP.
Anything to draw the attention UP. Hopefully people are looking at the pretty lace detail on this LOFT top and not at the extra 20 pounds in my mid-section, haha. Also why I love statement earrings!
This pink pullover I have been living in!! I’ve paired it with black work out pants and/or jeans. My new balances are from J.CREW but they don’t have this color anymore. (similar here)
Lastly, nothing is more forgiving than dresses! Especially when you throw a jean jacket over it. From the second I saw this blue bird print at LOFT I was obsessed.
This gingham dress is Sarah Jessica Parkers new line at GAP. The rouching in the front is perfect to hide imperfections and its super roomie in the chest which is just what I need. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this fit!
I want to hug whoever invented sweatshirt dresses. A new favorite for sure!!
And this cute number I wore to my cousin Shannon’s baby shower this past weekend. I love the material of it and the pretty poof sleeves make it more fun!
Some denim that fits, flowy tops, button downs and comfy dresses. I’m one happy Mama, totally content giving myself a little time to loose the baby weight. I’ve linked up everything below for you plus some other purchases I’ve made but haven’t worn yet. What are some of your favorite spring purchases? I’m looking forward to branching out to different stores for my summer wardrobe!
